Meritage Cares gives our employees the opportunity to support each other through difficult times. Meritage Cares was established in 2019 as an employees-helping-employees fund to assist Teammates experiencing financial hardship due to circumstances outside of their control. To date, over $100,000 has been given to Teammates in need. The program is funded through voluntary Teammate donations and company donations.

We are committed to supporting sustainability efforts and reducing our environmental footprint. We monitor our energy usage by partnering with GridPoint, a leader in energy and sustainability solutions. Gridpoint's innovative technology platform drives lower energy and operational costs, and more resilient buildings. We are proud to be a Wendy's franchisee and support their goal to sustainably source 100% of customer-facing packaging by 2026. The percentage of packaging meeting the sustainable sourcing goal has increased from 44% in 2020 to 48% in 2021 and new recyclable beverage cups are already available in stores.
Every year, Americans use over 40 BILLION pieces of single-use, plastic cutlery. Many of these pieces of cutlery are thrown away without being used. On January 16, 2023, we joined the #CutOutCutlery effort by Habits of Waste to keep plastic waste out of our environment. All Stan’s Tacos and Morning Belle restaurants now automatically default to zero utensils and napkins with every order to greatly reduce plastic pollution.
